Weight Loss Wednesday

Another week has come and gone! Sadly, I did not lose anything this week....BUT, I also did not gain, so that's a good thing! So, that brings me to my tally....

This weeks weight loss: 0 lbs
Total weight loss: 5.0 lbs

I really need to get myself motivated to get back to the gym, every day I say tomorrow is the day....hopefully that will be true soon!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to my good friend, Grace! Grace turns the big 2-7 today. We've been friends since high school, were college roommates our Freshman year at Virginia Tech and I was the Maid of Honor at her wedding. This has been a big year for Grace, she welcomed her first son...an adorable little boy, Bryce! Hope the next year is just as great for you and your family!!!

Sneak Peak!

I haven't completely finished decorating my newly painted bathroom, but here is a sneak peak....a picture of my beautiful new sink and mirror that I Love!!! I don't have a before picture, but it was your basic, builder grade, white pedestal sink....and now, I have this.....

THE Shoes...

I realized a few days ago (after a comment on my blue shoe post) that I never posted the results of my quest for THE BLUE SHOES in Virginia Beach. Well, not only did I FIND them...but I fell in LOVE with them!!! They are fabulous. Who knows what i'll wear them with, but I am happy always knowing that these beauties are just waiting for me in my closet whenever I need them.....

A giveaway and a busy weekend!

This weekend has been busy busy. I really thought I was just going to relaaaaaaaaax, but not so much. I have a lot of work that I've been wanting to do to my house to make it more homey. A lot of it is still stark white from when I bought it 3 years ago....BUT, I'm making progress. So, my parents and brother came over and helped paint a bunch and do lots of other projects. I have 1 roommate moving out on Friday and a new roommate moving in on Saturday, so I've been trying to get the house ready! We painted 1 of the spare rooms and the spare bathroom...granted they're just an offwhite (pearl) color in case I find another willing roommate. But, then we painted my half bath a beautiful blue color and are installing a new sink and new accessories. I don't think I have any before pictures (oops) but once it's all done i'll post some after pictures, so you'll have to come back and check it out!

Wouldn't you just die if you were sitting in a church waiting for the procession to begin and this is what happened??? I love it! I'm not sure that I would have enough guts to try this in church (especially since i'm Catholic)...but it would definitely start the whole day out right and make it one huge celebration! Good for them!

P.S. You'd have to have really brave friends too :)

A is for....

ME...I got an A in Microbiology!!!!! I don't know how I did it but I did. Those 8 weeks of cramming and doing work for hours and hours payed off...I'm DONE DONE DONE with that class and I got an A!!!!! I couldn't be more excited :) Can you tell???

Now I just have 1 more test in Anatomy and I'm done with that class too...I've had that A wrapped up for a while though :) Then it's 1 month of nursing left and another semester down!

Weight Loss Wednesday

It's that time again, Wendesday, Wednesday, Wednesday!!! So, what have I accomplished this week?? Let's check it out....

This weeks weight loss: 2.7 lbs
Total weight loss: 5.0 lbs

YAYYYYY, 5 pounds in 2 weeks! I can handle that :) I've been doing my best at eating well and still enjoying a few treats here or there. My new found love is the DIET Cherry Limeade at Sonic, 1/2 point for ANY size....LOVE IT!!! Now I just need to get back to the gym...and back to the days where I would work out 6 days a week...including 4 spin classes a week! I'm getting there! Be back for an update next week :)

Things that make ya go hmmmm.....

This is my life these days. This is who I spend all my time with, have dinner with, watch tv with, sleep with.... I've determined that nursing school is one of the hardest things I've ever done in my life. No matter how well you think you study or how good of a student you are, I'm not really sure that anything can prepare you for going through nursing school. You have to almost re-teach yourself how to be a student, but you have to teach yourself how to be the type of student that they want. You have to learn a new way of taking tests...yep, no more right or wrong, to prepare you for the NCLEX, they like to give you the "pick the answer that fits best" kinds of tests. You want to argue a test question with them, no good...you get "this was just the better answer"...hello, rationale?? Not only do you have to deal with all the tests, but we spend HOURS every week in labs and clinicals and do we even get a grade for it? Nope, satisfactory or unsatisfactory....granted, w/out a sat, you don't pass...but I want credit for all the time I put in! I'm on the down-slope of my second semester and I have a feeling every day until I graduate on May 15, 2011 will be an uphill battle. BUT, after drudging through all of this, finishing school and passing the NCLEX, it will all be worth it....and I'll be a nurse! Until then, if you need me, i'll be hangin' out with those guys above....

Weight Loss Wednesday

Week 1 down! Sadly, I didn't really get a good start on my diet until Monday...the weekend was just full of fun things and I couldn't make myself behave. Nonetheless, here is where I'm at as of today...

This weeks weight loss: 2.3 lbs
Total weight loss: 2.3 lbs

Hopefully next week will be much better :) I made a list of ways to reward myself when I reach certain weight loss milestones and I believe my first one, mani and pedi, comes up at 5 pounds...that just might happen next week :) Hopefully after I get through my horrible thursday i'll be able to get ramped up for the gym...that's my next hurdle to tackle :)

Wish Me Luck

Today is test day! Wish me luck...I'm in class 8 - 12 and 12:30 - 6 and have 2 tests, yikes! I hope it goes well!!!

Weight Loss Wednesday

I'm going to try something new on Wednesdays! So, in the past year I've gained between 50 - 60 pounds (yikes)...I guess that's what a combination of being out of work for 6 months, being on an anti-depressant and then starting back to a hectic, never the same "schedule" for school will get you... Thus, I'm miserable with the way I look and especially the way I feel. As with everything else I seem to do, I need to be held accountable to actually do it. So, you all are going to be the ones holding me accountable. I'm going to start a weekly "weight loss wednesday" post and update you on how my week went, what worked, what didnt, what I did for exercise and how much I lost! Obviously since this is Day 1, I have nothing to report...but I'll be back next wednesday and hopefully with good news :)
