ObSeSsEd...

Ok, so I'm completely and utterly obsessed with the twilight saga! I've read all 4 books in the past week....yes, 4 books averaging 550-750 pages each, in 7 days. They were the best books I've ever read in my life. The easiest books I've ever tried to read. I know that they're "young adult" books but it was quite possibly one of the best love stories I've ever read. I just loved them and would recommend them to anyone who is as in love with love as I am. You HAVE to read them....I hope you love them as much as I did :) I'm sad now that they're done!
On a positive, unrelated, note...I got a 92 on my first nursing test! Yay!!!

I broke down....

So, i've broken down and decided to read Twilight. I've heard great things about it and my roommate has become obsessed and told me I must read it! So, I'm going to give it a shot. If a book is not good and I cannot get into it fast, it will not be read (hence the 3 bookmarked books on my bedside table). So, here's hoping that this is entertaining because I need to read something other than Nursing Processes and Anotomy or I'll go crazy! I'll keep you updated.

The Preppy Puppy

So, for those of you who don't know, I have a puggle puppy named Paylin (yes, like Sarah Palin). I was a huge Sarah Palin fan during the election. She might not have been the best candidate for VP but I thought she was a caring and empathetic woman and would have done great. So, in October when I decided to get a puppy and was struggling with choosing a name, I was watching the news one night and it came to me....Paylin! And, may I just say, she's the preppiest puppy around. With the temperatures dropping below freezing, I couldn't send my little pup outside with no clothes on! So, I've outfitted her with some of the cutest things I could find. She has a pink puffy coat. I just love it......My favorite is her navy blue and pink argyle sweater...She loves to take long naps wearing her preppy sweater. She's just the cutest thing ever! She does have a pink and green t-shirt with a green polka-dot bow on the collar...that picture will be saved for the springtime :) So, hope you've enjoyed pictures of Paylin, the Preppy Puppy :)

Oh Boy!

My friend Beth and I threw the best baby shower for our friend Grace today! She's expecting a little boy on Feb. 26th. We worked super hard to put together, what we think, was a great shower where fun was had by all! We had several games...one of which was entitled "My Water Broke." I played this at a shower I went to a few months back and it is hilarious. We bought these little plastic babies from Party City and froze them in ice cubes. (Tip: fill the tray halfway, put the baby in and freeze, then fill the tray up the rest of the way and freeze again....otherwise, the baby will float to the top!) So, everyone gets an ice cube and they suck on them and the first one to free the baby wins! It was so funny and there were lots of laughs during that game (as you might expect). Our other favorite from the shower was our beautifully designed candy bar. We had a blast putting it together. We decided to go with a blue theme (obviously)...so we bought every piece of blue candy we came across. It turned out great. Check out the pictures below:

Again, today was a great day and I'm so glad that we could do this for Grace. We can't wait to meet little Baby W and we're so thrilled we could help prepare his mama for the big day!

I survived my first 2 days of classes

Well, I've made it through my first week of classes. Nursing classes that is. I still have lovely Anatomy and Biology in the coming weeks...argh! Yesterday was a Skills Lab and Lecture and today was our clinical...which will be held at the hospital but the first few weeks are at the school. It was definitely interesting but a little overwhelming. There is so much to learn, so much reading to be done...I forgot what school was like :) But, it was good...I think i'm going to really like it, I just have to get into some sort of routine. I like structure! So, I received my shoes in the mail and hated them...bleh. They just didn't fit right. So...I picked something else and I love them ( you can see them above). They are Sanita clogs...they are the original danskos...but I found them at Saxon Shoes for 50% off , which is exactly the kind of financial break I need at this juncture :) Any sale is a good sale!
Alright well it's off to do some reading and watching some tv. Ah, the life of being in school is back - craziness! Hope you're having a great week.

Even as a nursing student I get to shop for shoes...

So, I have to get a pair of "all white" shoes for my nursing clinicals. Well, all white shoes are just not that attractive. However, I think I have decided on these:

Apparently they are very comfortable and they were the most normal looking pair that I could find. I have such a strong sense of style, it might be hard to wear such boring shoes all the time...but I guess I'll survive. I thought about getting danskos...but considering right now I have clinical 1 day a week for 4 hours, I just couldn't see spending that much money at this moment. Maybe down the line....

Take 2

So, I've done the blogging thing once before and stopped a few months ago. But, since my life is about to become quite chaotic I thought I'd start again. So, I'm not an RN, yet. I officially start school on Tuesday, Jan 6th and I could not be more scared. After 5 years of event planning (which don't get me wrong, I loved) I decided that I was meant to do something different. So after a couple months of working as a Medical Asst in an OB-GYN office and being accepted to nursing school....I'm 3 days away from going back to school. After 5 years of being school-less, I'm doing it all again! And, I couldn't be more scared. Though I do have more of an appreciation for going to school now than I did in undergrad. I definitely think it will be a totally different experience. So, now you can keep up-to-date and follow me on this crazy journey for the next (approx) 30 months as I once again tredge through school in an effort to become an RN! Wish me luck and keep reading :)
