Feels like a BIRTH day!

My good friends, Grace and Jason, welcomed their new son into the world at 4:42pm this afternoon. Bryce Charles is 7 lbs 10 oz and 21 inches of adorableness. I can't wait to get my hands on him :) Mama and baby are doing great. Congrats to the happy new parents and welcome to the world, Bryce!

Another week down...

Well, another week down and another Nursing test down. I got an 88 on this one...a little slip from the 92 last time, but I was still pleased. I definitely did not study as much as I would have liked so I was very happy to get by with an 88. But, that leaves me with a 90 test average so far which I am completely pleased with for my first semester of nursing school......

I have plenty of time to boost it up...but for now, I'm one happy nursing student :)

It's Official....

So excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First (official) day as a Student Nurse....

Yesterday was our first day in the hospital...so I consider that my first "real" day as a student nurse. It was definitely an interesting day. We were paired up so at least we didn't have to dive in alone for the first time! The day went pretty well. Working with older people already has concreted my decision to work in Labor & Delivery! I definitely want to be the the babies and mommys!

Unfortunately now I am sick with some sort of darn cold. Its been 60-70 degrees all week..probably why I am sick! So, i've been lounging around with the puppy reading and watching tv.

Still waiting for my Anatomy grade....

Happy Thursday!

Have you heard??

So I just read on GossipGirls.com that the sequel to the Sex and the Citymovie was green lit....craziness! I'm not sure how I feel about this since the first movie was great and ended in the perfect way to "finish" the story. Don't get me wrong, I'm as huge of a fan as the next, but I just feel like maybe they're trying to drain money out of something at the risk of it possibly being mediocre. Check out the article:

One Tree Hill meets Dawson's Creek...

I just have to say how I think it's hilarious that James Van Der Beek is now starring on One Tree Hill as this badass, coke snorting movie director. I guess long gone are the boy next door, Dawson Leery days....

Ahhh, I really can't get enough of One Tree Hill...no matter the story line!

The head bone's connected to the neck bone....

In an effort not to only talk about the Twilight books, I figured I should post something else! This Saturday is my first Anatomy exam...bleh! I'm flying through the Nursing classes, but Science makes me nervous. I know, I know...why am I in a nursing program if I'm afraid of Science?? Good Question! I know I can survive it, but that means that I will spend a lot of my spare time this week studying for my first test. Sooooo, cross your fingers, wish me luck and hope that I do well. I can't wait until Saturday afternoon when it will all be over :) I will have to do something fun that night!

In other news, this week is our first week in the hospital. We won't actually have a patient this week, just orientation, but we keep inching closer.....

1 month down and only 29 to go until I can sit for the NCLEX....seems so far away, but I have a feeling it's going to fly by!

Happy Monday!!

ObSeSsEd...

Ok, so I'm completely and utterly obsessed with the twilight saga! I've read all 4 books in the past week....yes, 4 books averaging 550-750 pages each, in 7 days. They were the best books I've ever read in my life. The easiest books I've ever tried to read. I know that they're "young adult" books but it was quite possibly one of the best love stories I've ever read. I just loved them and would recommend them to anyone who is as in love with love as I am. You HAVE to read them....I hope you love them as much as I did :) I'm sad now that they're done!
On a positive, unrelated, note...I got a 92 on my first nursing test! Yay!!!

I broke down....

So, i've broken down and decided to read Twilight. I've heard great things about it and my roommate has become obsessed and told me I must read it! So, I'm going to give it a shot. If a book is not good and I cannot get into it fast, it will not be read (hence the 3 bookmarked books on my bedside table). So, here's hoping that this is entertaining because I need to read something other than Nursing Processes and Anotomy or I'll go crazy! I'll keep you updated.

The Preppy Puppy

So, for those of you who don't know, I have a puggle puppy named Paylin (yes, like Sarah Palin). I was a huge Sarah Palin fan during the election. She might not have been the best candidate for VP but I thought she was a caring and empathetic woman and would have done great. So, in October when I decided to get a puppy and was struggling with choosing a name, I was watching the news one night and it came to me....Paylin! And, may I just say, she's the preppiest puppy around. With the temperatures dropping below freezing, I couldn't send my little pup outside with no clothes on! So, I've outfitted her with some of the cutest things I could find. She has a pink puffy coat. I just love it......My favorite is her navy blue and pink argyle sweater...She loves to take long naps wearing her preppy sweater. She's just the cutest thing ever! She does have a pink and green t-shirt with a green polka-dot bow on the collar...that picture will be saved for the springtime :) So, hope you've enjoyed pictures of Paylin, the Preppy Puppy :)
